Church School for Children to Kickoff Next Week
We’re excited to kick off another year of Church School for children ages 5 through 5th grade on Fridays. Class will resume on Friday, September 17 during the 10:00 am service. Anyone interested in teaching on a rotational basis (curriculum provided!) should contact Pastor Peter or Michele Johnson.
Weekend Wandering Scheduled for October 16
Our first Weekend Wandering will be on Saturday, October 16 at 10:00 am. A friend of Daniel Blucker will lead us through Old Islamic Cairo in the Khan el Khalili, the neighborhood where he lives. We will meet at 10:00 am in front of the Al Azhar Mosque and will tour several historic sites throughout Old Islamic Cairo. The tour is free except for the entrance fee to Beit as Suhaymi and lunch (which can be purchased individually). When visiting mosques, modest dress is required; no bare shoulders, tight clothes, or shorts. Head covering for women is required, and shoes must be removed before entering. Watch for additional visits to various locations in and around Cairo. If you have a particular location you’re interested in visiting, or have expertise to share, please let Pastor Peter know.
