St. Andrew’s Worship and Fellowship Service Opportunities
Each week, different members of the community play an important role in facilitating worship and fellowship within our congregation. If you are interested in or have questions about participating, please contact Pastor Peter.
Reader: The reader during the worship service is responsible for reading the Old Testament, Psalm (responsively with the congregation) and the New Testament readings, which are provided in advance. Lessons are read from the lectern, which has a microphone.
Reader/Communion Assistant: On the first and third weekends of the month, St. Andrew’s serves Holy Communion. The lay reader on Communion weekends can assist the pastor in distributing Holy Communion. Please come forward to the altar when it is time for the distribution. While the pastor serves the bread, the assistant serves the wine.
Refreshments: Coffee and treats are served each week following our services. Individuals can sign up to bring cookies, bars or other baked goods to share.
Flowers: Flowers are ordered each Friday to beautify our sanctuary for worship. If you would like to purchase the flowers for a special Friday, the cost is 25LE. If you wish, you may take the flowers home following the service.
Coffee Hour Setup: Each week, members of the community assist in preparing the Guild Hall for our weekly fellowship following worship. Summer fellowship is often held in the Courtyard. Duties may include gathering cups, saucers, tea, Nescafe, tablecloths, etc. on central tables in the Guild Hall. Volunteers may also be asked to move tables and chairs into position.
